October 16. The Red Sofa sat in her corner quite contented.

Do you know that I get to see all the television shows the family watches? It is on till almost 3 every morning. I watch the shows I like. That’s the way I keep myself busy as I have nothing else to do.

Which is the show you like the most? B

I love watching Salman Khan on Big Boss. He’s too funny for words. What I find hilarious is the way he dances. I watched Khali on the same show tonight.

But what do you do during the day? B

I look out of the window. Talk with the plants and sleep for long hours. I need that sleep to keep my beauty intact!  

You actually talk with the plants? B

Don’t you know that all those plants are living?

I know they are alive but to have a conversation with a plant is a little difficult to believe! B

Who is your best friend from among the plants?

The spider lilies. Have you seen the lovely white flowers they have given birth to?B

I have. They also smell good. What do you converse about?

About a lot of things. They were complaining to me the other day about how Rani and MoJo tug and tear their leaves and about how much that hurts. That little pup who has come to live here is a rascal. She eats up the mud and chews up all my tender leaves. Sometimes, when she tugs my leaves, I am tempted to spank her. B

Scold her the next time she does that.

“It’s midnight. Shall we call it a day and continue the story tomorrow?”

“Sure.”
