Dear Readers, you may notice the dates of the Blog do not match the Flash Post dates which are in real time. The blog was written in 2009 and saw the light of day 6 months back when my younger daughter discovered it and decided to bring it to you here.

March 13. “Button, the IPL has begun. Do you follow the game?”

“You know I love watching cricket with the family.”

“I don’t really care for the IPL.”

“Why?”

“Simply because it’s all mixed up—meaning that there are players from different countries in one team. I just can’t remember who is in which team. I enjoyed the game much more when India played against Sri Lanka or West Indies or South Africa. But nothing can steal the thunder from a match between India and Pakistan. I am also not in favour of the players being auctioned. For God’s sake, they’re not cattle!”

“I once thought of taking up cricket as a career option. I still practice imaginary strokes and possess a cricket bat. I have a cricket ball which Sachin signed for me.”

“This is something you’ve never told me! Is there something else you’ve kept away from me?”

“Maybe! You have told me often that there’s a time for everything. I’m sure you have secrets. I have mine which I may or may not reveal. And, even if I do, it will be at the right time! My time!”

“You’ve grown up.”

“I am 5 and will always remain 5.”

“Who’s the player you like most?”

“Shane Warne. He’s my all-time favourite, as a bowler and as a first-rate captain.”
