That’s so sweet.

Have you seen how poor people living on the streets adopt strays? I have seen these people use them as pillows laying their heads on the stray and both man and beast fast asleep!

I guess it just needs a big heart and the keenness to be able to do something so brave.

True. The story of this lady taking care of 10 strays on a meagre sum of Rs 15,000 her husband earns is so heart-warming. And yet, you have the filthy rich bringing home pedigree dogs and, when they grow to a size they don’t fancy, abandon them. If you visit the BSPCA in Parel, you will find Great Danes, Labradors, German Shepherds, Dachshunds, Cocker Spaniels and all kinds of pedigrees besides the strays who somebody adopted in their saner moments and dumped when they felt they wanted to throw them out for no reason at all.

I have no answer. I am simply dumbfounded. It’s like the dogs who have been abandoned and left to fend for themselves on the Bandra promenade and are unaware of how they can do so while waiting for their masters to return and take them back home.

Don’t rub it in any more as its a very sad story. Why don’t we request our community of members to take home a bundle of joy?

Lets give it a try.

I just adopted a stray cat from YODA….lots of abandoned strays even at IDA and BSPCA but BSPCA is a hell hole for animals…full of infection and germs…any animal that is admitted there always contracts some other life threatening illness…please please adopt people…it will give you a lot of joy and fulfillment.

  I am one with you on the idea of adopting strays. Our kitten, Messi, has brought truckloads of joy and laughter into our lives. I, especially, can’t help but be amused by his antics every single day and I hope more people would let them into their lives to find joy. With him around, I seriously doubt if I’ll get depressed again.
  
  BSPCA as you rightly put it, is a hellhole for animals. Every time we visited that place with a sick pet, it never made it back home.

Dear author, this post is heart breaking and yet overwhelming at the same time…for every heartless person who abandons their pets, there is a woman like this who adopts a stray even if she is from a humble background…shows her priorities and where her heart is…just incredible…there is still hope in this world.

  Have you noticed the strays who are extremely happy and content living on the pavement with their human counterparts? They could be sharing one meal a day but the joy on their faces is so palpable. It requires a big heart to be able to share your life with another and not riches alone.

I have seen dogs being abandoned on the expressway to Pune so often…they keep chasing their owner’s car but the car never stops..why don’t people have a heart? why don’t people understand that dogs only give love…i hope such inhuman people are punished by God. i hope they are abandoned at some point in their life.

  Please don’t hope for such things. Instead, do as much as you can by way of helping abandoned and sick animals. There’s no point in cursing others when we fail to do our bit for society.
