Man’s Best Friend 1 | Flash Post 346

Button, do you know that dogs feel the way humans do emotionally in areas of hurt, anger, rejection, hunger, joy as well as depression?

I’ve watched our two smile, bark loudly when they are hungry and want their meals, sit and sulk in dark corners when they feel pain and rejection.

Have you watched one of our babies feeling left out and lonely?

Are you talking about Dost’s best friend?

Have you noticed lately that after Messi’s entry into our lives, she keeps to herself and sits alone in some secluded corner often?

I have. Does that mean that she feels alone and depressed?

What other reason could there be!

Won’t long periods of depression take a toll on her psyche?

Could well be!

I see the family trying to give her more attention to raise her spirits. The other one is completely sure of herself and doesn’t give any attention whatsoever to Messi’s presence. She continues to be Ms Maharani!

It’s amazing how distinctive their personalities are! While one is bindaas the other is not so carefree and cool. I read a very sad bit of news in the Mumbai Mirror a couple of days back that said that there are many more dogs on the beaches in Bandra and the feeling is that a lot of these dogs have been abandoned by their owners.

That’s the human race for you and it shouldn’t surprise us.
