“Button, do you think these crows and our pets, Mowgli and Mojo, have worked out a deal between themselves where, for a drink of water from the birdbath on the terrace, these birds fetch for them either some meat or a chicken bone to chew?

They must be sharing a code language since I just saw Mowgli run to the terrace and go sniff, sniff, sniff and pick up something to munch on. I didn’t explore what she was chewing on but I will the next time. The crow proceeded to drink only after this exchange!

Hafta! In other words, the crows are paying hafta to our pets for a drink of water!
