Button, can you make out anything from the cartoon posted above?

Not really.

This is Morparia’s take on big corporates and the banking sector. In other words, what he is trying to say is that the whole idea of a swacch Bharat is a farce as long as the government does not clean up big corporates houses and banks. Incidentally, Morparia is the cartoonist for Mumbai Mirror and does a cartoon everyday. Some of those cartoons are gems.

Is that Amitabh Bachhan? Does he endorse a bank or a corporate?

  The purpose of writing a blogpost on the cartoon was because I felt the cartoonist, Hemant Morparia, had brilliantly expressed the bank scams that have been bothering the honest citizen for a while now. Honestly, I have no idea if one of the characters is Mr Bachchan. Is there one?

To be honest I beleieve in the Swachh Bharat mission. If everyone takes a little care of their surroundings and educates and inspired others to do so, we would be in a cleaner and more hygiene country. I really worry about those who live in critically unhygienic places where bacteria festers. It’s important for missions like these to work though. They cannot be a means for corruption.

  Can you talk about Swachh Bharat when our farmers are still committing suicide, when our young children are molested and gangraped every single day, when old parents are thrown out of their own houses by their own children and left on the streets to beg, when the rich run away with our hard-earned tax-paid money…I can go on and on!
  
  What is the point in physically cleaning up our country with a broom in our hands when all of the above and much, much more plague us?
