How can you tell that this frog is male and why would I call him Prince Charming?

I am assuming he’s male because I can then tell you a charming little story.

Yeh, a story. Tell me please.

There once was a beautiful princess. She loved playing all by herself in the palace gardens with her favourite golden ball.

And…

One day, while she was playing with the ball, she missed a catch and the ball went and landed in a pond nearby. The princess started to cry because she didn’t want to get into the pond as she was wearing her favourite golden dress.

This is getting interesting.

Suddenly, the princess heard a strange noise coming from the pond. Don’t you know how to swim? asked a green-coloured frog. She scrunched up her face at the sight of the frog sitting on a lily pad and replied, I do. Then come on in, said the frog. But I’ll ruin my dress, replied the princess.

And then?

Well, then I suppose I could get it for you, said the frog. Please, please do, cried the princess.
And what will you give me in return? Asked the frog. You can have anything you wish, replied the princess.

What did the frog ask for in return?

Well, I’d like a friend I can spend time with, to eat supper with, to read to me, sleep beside me and kiss me goodnight. I’ll give you anything you want if you can get my ball back, cried the princess. The frog retrieved the ball and dived into the water and disappeared.

This can’t be the end of the story!

After the frog had got the ball back for the princess, she forgot about the frog entirely and all the promises she’d made to him. One day, at supper, there was a knock on the door. The King opened the door and in hopped a frog. I have come to eat supper with you, said the frog addressing the princess.  Saying this, the frog jumped onto the table. The princess grabbed the frog and placed him outside the door.

And then?

Then the King asked the princess,  who was that princess? Oh, a frog I befriended who wants to eat with me, spend time with me, read to him, sleep with him and kiss him goodnight! But I don’t want to hang with him. A promise is a promise, replied the King. Seeing the stern look on his face, the princess went and opened the door.

And?

The frog ate supper with her and then followed the princess to her bedroom, hopped onto the bed and went and sat on her pillow.

Hahahaha…This is so funny.

Before the frog could get comfortable, the princess picked him up and placed him gently by the window. But you promised, said the frog. She sighed and took him back to bed, read out a story to him, tucked him into bed and kissed him gently and, all of a sudden, the frog transformed into a handsome prince before her eyes!

What?

The prince told her that an evil witch had put a spell on him and only a kiss from a princess could transform have back into a prince.

And then the inevitable happens which is that they get married and live happily ever after.

No, Button. The prince and the princess become best of friends and when she accidentally threw the golden ball too high, the prince would go and fetch it for her.

Lovely story. Thank you so much. And here’s a kiss for you. Hope you don’t turn into an ugly duckling!
