Button, 15th January turned out to be a day of both celebration and disasters!

I know it was Dost’s birthday we celebrated but what are the disasters you are talking about?

Well, Raghu, a close friend of the family, passed away. We spent many fun-packed evenings over dinner either at our place or theirs. We last visited him at the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital where he was admitted after a fall. He was more or less in good spirits then. Therefore, when we learnt of his death, we were taken aback. This tells us how short life is and whatever we wish to do, should be done the same day or, better still, that very moment. Waiting to do what we can do today may never come and then we’ll have to live with the regret of not having done it sooner.

You’re so right. Delaying something means that we never intended to do it in the first place.

If you want to tell someone you love him, say it now. If you want to say sorry to someone, speak out now. If you feel like  paying an old friend a visit, go visit him today because you never know if tomorrow will come!

Makes sense!

Dost called me at around 1 in the afternoon to give me the sad news that my mother had fallen down again and had to be checked into a hospital. The real fact is that she had a stroke and fell off a chair she was sitting on. Currently, she’s in a nursing home where her doctor is trying to bring her blood pressure down to be able to stop the intra-cranial haemorrhage.

I’ll do what I can do which is pray for her quick recovery so she can return home soon.
