February 9. “I saw Mowgli enter your room last night, Button.”
“Seeing her, I felt awful that I had scared her.”
“And did you apologize?”
“I apologized and she hugged me and gave me a long kiss. She’s very cute. I don’t think I’ll be able to scare her again.”
“Did she say anything else?”
“She asked me why I had scared her. I told her that I was just playing with her. She then told me that my teeth are very big and asked me to open my mouth wide so she could count them. I opened my mouth wide and let her do the counting.”
“And?”
“She told me I have very bad teeth with serious cavities and that I should wear braces and get them corrected by an orthodontist and get the cavities filled up.”
“Everybody in our family is scared of dentists. I am the only exception. My younger daughter has several cavities but there’s no way I can get her to see a teeth doctor.”
“I am equally scared of dentists. They pull out teeth for the heck of it. Mowgli pacified me by telling me she’ll accompany me.”
