December 13. “Sir sulked for almost 24 hours. He refused to talk to anyone and continued to stay put in the guest room.”

“He seems okay now.”

“He is after he complained to my elder daughter once she got back home from her friend’s place.  Men are such kids. So immature.”

“It’s a fact that men are far immature than women of the same age. Do you think I am immature?”

”I don’t know.”

“And how was your day?”

“Not a very happy one: My mother who is in Kolkata has made up her mind to stay back all by herself when my sister and her family take off for Goa for Christmas and the New Year.  I tried my best to convince her to come here and spend some time with us but she flatly refused. She’s all of 83 and it pains me that she will be all alone as the year comes to an end.”

“I understand how you feel but your entire family tried to convince her to come. Why do you think she’s so adamant!”

“I don’t have a clue. She says she’s happiest when she’s at home. At her age, she’s scared to travel.”
