April 4. “Button, see this cartoon strip carefully.”
“Why?”
“It’s a cartoon strip called Hocus-Focus where one has to find at least 6 differences between the two. I’ve been doing this for years, every time I manage to locate one. This one caught me off-guard after a very long time and after I had located all 6 differences, I thought I’d get you to do the same. Now, come here and try and spot as many differences as you can.”
“It’s easy: The No 1 difference is the tree that’s differently positioned. The 2nd is the difference in the awning.”
“I’ll give you exactly 4 more seconds to find the remaining four differences.”
“You’re cheating. You didn’t tell me that you were going to time me. Don’t be unfair.
The 3rd difference is the man’s finger that’s pointing upwards in the first frame is pointing out straight in the second frame. The 4th difference is the writing on the car is missing. The 5th is the boy is thinner and the 6th is the difference in the man’s hair. I’m done. How much time did I take?”
“You took 7 seconds.”
“Not bad for a first attempt.”
“I am off to Kolkata tomorrow morning with Dost for a day. Look after yourself.”
