Button, that’s what you call a coincidence!

What!

Dost had a really bad toothache last evening and I was on my iPad responding to queries by my diary readers. Chotididi was showing enough TLC so I continued to work on my iPad. This made him see red. Throughout the course of the evening, he repeatedly nagged me about how I was on that iPad while he was in extreme pain. As I can be extremely stubborn when pushed to a wall, I continued with my work.

This is getting interesting.

This morning, after I’d enquired after his toothache and if he’d had a good night’s sleep, he found barididi this time to once again complain about the acute toothache he’d experienced last evening while I’d been on my iPad! My eyes moisted. Coincidentally, I’d put on some music to calm Dost’s frayed nerves.

And?

My eyes grew more moist hearing John Lennon singing Jealous Guy in the background. At this moment, a tear escaped and fell. I’ll quote a little bit of the song for you.

That’s coincidental.

The first stanza goes like this:

I was dreaming of the past

Such a heart breaking post author…men can be babies sometimes…it’s not a bad thing. We face the tough and evil world during the day but when we come home, we want to be taken care of like babies. that one hug from a wife or smile or a kiss will take away all the scars and wounds of the day’s battle and all we want then is to lie in their arms and sleep a peaceful sleep.

  What happens sometimes is that nagging becomes a pain. When someone goes on and on raking up stale issues because he or she wants attention, it is bound to get sore and painful.

sometimes, we women don’t understand that after a whole day of working away and fighting the ugly world outside, when our husbands come home, all they want is some attention. one simple question like’How was your day?’. sometimes, we are so caught up in taking care of the house and our in laws and the baby that we forget to even ask this..

  You’re right. A conversation can be initiated by either of the spouses. Once it’s put into motion, it could well continue. Someone has to take the initiative.

It works the other way too. When women come home after a long day’s work, the husbands should do the same instead of watching a cricket or football match! my husband works from home because he is a programmer while i work at a bank. everyday when i return he’s busy with his friends or with his work…he doesn’t even ask me how my day went or what i would like to eat. but if i can do it so should he!

  I have a solution. Honestly. Since he’s a stay-at-home professional, why not tell him to prepare a meal sometimes or call him up to say you’re too tired to cook a meal therefore you are suggesting that the family go out for dinner or call in for food! Involve him more in household chores. Is he the type to come around?

The dynamics between a husband and wife are so layered. We try and say so many things without actually saying them. And sometimes they comes out right. Sometimes wrong. I don’t feel any film maker or novelist has till today been able to capture the true dynamics of this relationship. They only end up creating caricatures. Clearly, your husband just wants your attention author. Give him some?

  Aren’t all relationships layered? It’s like juggling various situations. When you miss one and it falls to the ground, there’s tension, sometimes fights. Relationships are fragile. Some of us, after many trials and errors, actually know how to deal with a particular situation. We also fail at times.

We get so caught up in doing our tasks, whether it’s our job or the home or the children or in laws, that sometimes couples don’t get time or energy for each other. This creates a huge vacuum which keeps growing. If you become aware of it from before, you can do something about it.

  But there will be love and laughter in homes if marriages work out, children will grow up into loving adults if they are happy, we’ll be able to perform better in our workplaces if we are happy in our personal lives. For that, a healthy communication between family members is of utmost importance.

It’s true. Find some time to spend with each other. And when you’re together don’t let distractions get in the way. Like mobiles or work or children. Everythings will find a way to work itself out but don’t ignore your relationships in life.

  I totally agree with you. After relationships are built, both sides need to nurture them to make them grow. For that one of the crucial things required is conversation between people. While it is also necessary to stay in touch with friends and relatives, it seems somewhat odd when two people sit at a table hooked to the screens of their cellphones and no conversation!
