Swinging In The Wind | Flash Post 315
Button, both Dost and I had a sitting with the dentist today. He for an extremely sensitive tooth with exposed nerves and I for a couple of fillings.
I am aware of that.
On my way back, as the vehicle stopped for a minute or so at a red signal at Mahalakshmi, a necklace of telephone wires drew my attention.
On it, sat hundreds of pigeons, bobbing up and down, toppling backwards and forwards only to scoot from one wire to the other when they failed to balance themselves anymore.
What more did you observe?
From the spot I observed them, it looked strange that two black lines were going back and forth.
Like a swing, you mean!
You could say that. I wish I could have video-taped it to show it to you but the traffic light had already changed to green and the vehicle had started moving.
In other words, the pigeons had made a make-shift swing and were merrily swinging away!
With the cool breeze caressing their faces gently in the light drizzle.
You think they were having a good time?
From what I observed, they were having a whale of a time.
Four-legged animals like us as well as the two-legged species with or without wings also take time off to engage in fun and games, you know. Humans have fun and so do we in our own ways. The other day, as it poured, a puddle formed in our terrace. As you were out, I stepped into the terrace and splashed around in the water. That’s how I got covered in muck.
And I had to send you for a clean-up! Naughty, naughty Button.
