Dear Readers, you may notice the dates of the Blog do not match the Flash Post dates which are in real time. The blog was written in 2009 and saw the light of day 6 months back when my younger daughter discovered it and decided to bring it to you here.
September 5. “I notice you’ve begun to sit in the sun these days!”

September 5. “I notice you’ve begun to sit in the sun these days!”

“That’s the easiest way to get your daily dose of vitamin D, Button. It’s also one of those things, apart from the air you breathe, that comes free.”

“Isn’t it a bit hot to sit in the sun in this weather?”

“Not really. 10 to 15 minutes in the sun can’t be all that hot.”

“I used to see your mom do the same thing. Each day, after her shower, she’d sit in the sun for a while. Do you mean to say people of that generation understood all that?”

“Must have or why would she sit out in the sun? Couldn’t have been to dry her hair which she washed every day! My ma-in-law used to do the same thing.”

“Do you think about anything at all during those 10 to 15 minutes or is your mind blank?”

“It’s difficult to completely blank out your mind but I try to think of positive things during that time and not about work.”

“I was under the impression that you plan your day in that space.”

“I sometimes also meditate and am trying to teach myself that one can get a lot of satisfaction from not doing anything. All of us are running from pillar to post every nanosecond of the day trying to do something or the other and trying to pack in as much as we can into one day!”

“That’s so true.”

“When we are asked what we are doing, do we ever take pride in telling the person that we are not doing anything! Very often we make up a long list of everything we are most times not doing!”
