September 30. “Button, another month comes to an end.”
“Why does it sometimes feel that time is whizzing past yet, at other times, it seems that time is standing still?”
“It’s the way you choose to see it. When we are busy, time flies. When we are not so busy, time also slows down.”
“But being busy and rushing from one activity to the next does not give me a high anymore.”
“I am actually beginning to accept the fact that lazing around and reading a book is a more pleasurable thought and activity. Some time back, I’d race—even if I didn’t enjoy it—to do one task after another. Today, as I grow older, I look forward to the time when I can put my feet up, have a cup of tea and read the book I am reading. I even tell myself that I don’t need to do something all the time to prove how busy I am. And why should I be busy when I can relax?”
“Interesting. Makes a lot of sense.”
“We had our Annual General Meeting today. Also the landmark Ayodhya verdict was made public today.”
“Please tell me about this Ayodhya issue some time at your convenience.”
“I will.”
