September 13. “Button, three guesses as to who played hide-n-seek with me this morning.”

“Rani?”

“No.”

“Dost?”

“You’re wrong again.”

“Your house help!”

“Not this morning, though he does it sometimes when he comes for work by ringing the doorbell and hiding behind the door.”

“Then who?”

“The sun. Every time I sat on the lovely Red Blue and Yellow sofa to get my doze of vitamin D, he’d hide behind the clouds. It seemed as if he was teasing me and playing hard to get.”

“What did you do after he hid?”

“I waited patiently for a while for him to emerge and when he didn’t went back to reading the newspapers. This happened five times when I got really frustrated and left.”

“Why do you think the sun is male?”

“Just. There’s no particular reason.”

“Have you seen how lovely the clouds look when he goes behind them? They have a silver lining all around them. The clouds look like a lovely, flowing wedding dress with silver trimmings!”
