October 13. “Today is the assembly elections. And, like every other year, we will go and cast our votes.

Do you also know that since the time I’ve been voting—this is the first time when all commercial outlets will be shut till 5 in the evening? This is the first time when we will have to keep our wellness club shut for half a day. It’s never been shut even for a second in 9 years. Someone’s brilliant idea that citizens would actually step out of their homes to go to polling booths and vote if offices remained shut! Crazy! When we went to cast our votes, the place was deserted and it must have been around 4 in the evening.”

“And why do you need to vote?”

“Just. Feels nice as it is our constitutional right. By the way, did you have a good day?”

“Sort of.”
