November 9. “Button, our club is somewhat back in shape. It doesn’t look battered anymore.”
“That must make you feel good.”
“Very good. By the way, you remind me of Humpty Dumpty sitting on that perch of yours with that huge tummy. Do you remember how you fell down from that perch? It’s all there in the nursery rhyme. Do you know the nursery rhyme?”
“I do but recite it to me.”
“It goes: Humpty Dumpty had a huge tummy
That came in the way
It was so funny—
He lost his balance
And fell in a heap
Humpty Dumpty lay sprawled like jelly bean…”
“You’ve made it up—haven’t you? That’s not the way the nursery rhyme goes!”
“I did it to see if you noticed. It’s a lot like your fall from the stand you sit on! What is not similar is that you are still in one piece. I’ve also changed your position so that you don’t get bored sitting in one place.”
“Thank you, friend. I am grateful.”
