November 8. “Did you watch the cricket match between India and Australia this morning?”
“I did.”
“Wasn’t it disastrous? It was unbelievable how badly India played. When I saw they were 5 wickets down for 36 runs, I thought it was a rerun of some old match! But then I figured it was live and got the shock of my life and that is when I went and called sir to give him the bad news too.”
“I saw you watching the match on and off.”
“I did thinking that, perhaps, our boys would be able to bowl the opposition out quickly. But even that did not happen.”
“Did your elder daughter watch the match?”
“She must have after I messaged her. Actually none of us knew the time of the match.”
“The one thing I observed is that the house is a lot quieter when she is not around.”
“You’re right. She is the chatterbox in the family and rounds up all of us to discuss something or have fun in general. The rest of us are quiet and the non-chatty type so the house is dead in her absence if you ask me…”
“When is she returning?”
“Tuesday evening.”
