November 21. “Button, I must tell you about the fascination MoJo has for a toy chicken. It’s hilarious!”
“Really?”
“This is a tiny toy chicken my elder daughter and I bought from the pet shop and one that’s become MoJo’s best friend.”
“What does MoJo do with her?”
“She adores this particular toy and plays with her as if she’s her best buddy.”
“Is it the one that squeaks a lot?”
“That’s the one. MoJo catches hold of her in her mouth and runs all over the house like a maniac and, every time she drops it and picks it up again, the bird squeaks loudly. She loves chewing her as well. She also does something with her that makes her squeak on and on and on. There’s one more ball that makes funny noises but MoJo is interested only in the chicken.”
“We can write an interesting story about MoJo and her chicken friend.”
“I knew you’d suggest this sooner or later.”
“What shall we call the story?”
“What about—MoJo Finds a Friend?”
“Nice but we can do better than that. Let me think.”
“By the way, Button, Dost and I are traveling to Goa tomorrow. Be back soon.”
