May 19. “Button, I changed my chore-infested life around a bit and it made me feel really good.”
“And how did you do that? You’re someone who loves to do everything by rote!”
“I actually took a break from what I was doing, put my legs up and read almost three chapters of the book I am reading at the moment.”
“Wow! How unlike you! And how did it feel?”
“Marvelous. I felt I was sneaking away and doing something I shouldn’t be doing yet feeling good about it! But that whole experience was something else. It gave me a high. It made me feel proud of myself.”
“You must do such things more often.”
“I was telling Dost this morning how I had read almost half the book during our vacation in Phuket and not a single sentence on return.”
“What book are you reading?”
“Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. It’s an international best-seller and has been made into a hit movie too.”
“Change can be exciting.”
“Only if you give it a chance to enter your space. Whenever I’ve done things in a different sequence, it’s been for the better and made me feel good.”
