June 5. “Your body feels hotter than usual, Button. Are you okay?”
“I think I’m getting a cold. I also have a bad headache.”
“Let me take your temperature. Yes, the thermometer shows 100 degrees.”
“Do you think I could have caught the cold from your younger daughter?”
“Possible. Can I give you a headache pill? You can have some hot chocolate to wash it down.”
“I’ll rest for a while and see if the headache gets better. If it doesn’t, I’ll ask you for a pill.”
“You probably have the headache because of your cold. But drink lots of fluids and eat well.”
“I’ve heard that one should feed a cold and starve a fever. How true is that?”
“Like everything else, take it with a pinch of salt. Who knows what the same people will say tomorrow!”
“They may just say—Starve a cold and feed a fever!”
“Something like that.”
