July 17. “Button, Unny’s cartoon in this morning’s Indian Express is hilarious.”
“Really? Why?”
“It shows our Finance Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee telling D Udaya Kumar, the winner of the Indian rupee symbol, that the first triumph of the symbol will be the day we see it on keyboards made in China.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Come on, Button. Think. Isn’t everything manufactured in China these days at the lowest cost, lightning speed and exported? From a simple torch to complex machines to you name it—all are MADE IN CHINA. Hence, our FM is telling the creator of the symbol that it will meet with success only when China manufactures those keyboards before we do since we are so slow and various protocols and bribery will slow down the manufacturing process even more.”
“But why can’t we make those keyboards ourselves?”
“Sheer laziness and hurdles at every step so those involved can make as much money as they can.”
“This is unbelievable.”
“And shocking.”
“And shameful.”
