January 5. “And did you go for the greatest experience of your life? Tell me all about it.”
“I am still in shock!”
“Why shock?”
“The shock of the entire experience. Fluffy came before 7 in the morning when it was still dark and perched outside the window ledge. The window was open and he told me to climb on to his back. I found that a little difficult because my arms aren’t that long to go round him but I managed a tight squeeze! I was instructed to hold on to him as tightly as I could. My mouth went dry and, for a few minutes, I did not open my eyes for fear of looking down but once I opened them, it was something else. Fluffy took me all the way to the Worli Sea Link and, because too many people weren’t up that early and it wasn’t very bright, I doubt if anyone saw us! Fluffy flew me the entire length of the bridge with me clinging on to him. It was a glorious sight to see the sun rise out of the sea like a huge ball of fire. We returned via Haji Ali when he dived really low and scrape the sea before dropping me back home.”
“And how long were you out for?”
“About half an hour. For a first time outing, half an hour was more than enough. I am rather heavy so Fluffy must have had a difficult time flying me around though he didn’t mention anything. I also held out one arm in front just like Superman as we were flying towards the sea link. I have only one word to describe my experience: Mind-blowing. He’s promised to take me for a longer trip next time round.”
“You have a great friend in Fluffy.”
“He’s not only a great friend. He’s my best friend.”
