January 23. “Did it feel nice when I lifted you up this morning to show you the pigeon wooing his mate?”
“Yes, I loved it when you carried me in your arms.”
“Would you like a mate? Should I look out for another teddy to get you married to?”
“Where will you find her?”
“That’s my problem. Nothing is impossible. So you’re not totally averse to the idea? You’ll have someone to keep you company.”
“Are you serious?”
“We’ll shortly have Lady Button at home and the two of you can occupy the room you’re staying in now and, after a while, we’ll have Baby Button too.”
“One thing at a time, please. We’ll see about Baby Button once we find Lady Button. More and more couples are opting to be by themselves. Why do we need kids? they ask. If the two of us are comfortable with each other and have a good time together, where is the need to procreate?”
“Give me a month.”
“Take your time. There’s no rush.”
“Come and watch some tv with me now.”
“Chalo.”
