“Button, this was just up your street and I know you would have enjoyed this trip more than any of us!

Thanks to my younger daughter, we actually went to Disneyland, the theme park in Hong Kong, and got transported back into an era of fantasy, fun and laughter. The Disney toy train chugged its way into this ethereal world where we met some Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy (who reminds me of my elder daughter) and even shook hands with them.

At the magic show we went ecstatic as we became one with the characters as they came within touching distance, rode the magic carpet with Aladin and Jasmine and sang A Whole New World from the animated film Aladin.

The castles, some of them almost touching the azure skies, were beautifully lit up for Christmas and a lot of the kids were dressed up in Disney fantasy character attire.

Hidden in all of us is that child who emerges once in a while to touch base with their childhood gone by! I was so glad I went.”
