What are these?
This is called shadow-play. On a hot summer afternoon last week, I suddenly spotted this exquisite filigree on the wall opposite our terrace garden. I looked outside only to discover that a portion of our garden had got reflected on to the bedroom wall. It was a spectacular site and I knew I had to capture the image.
It is stunning. Do you also notice the plants suddenly blooming with the summer heat? They are all looking green and fresh and lush.
By the way, do you know what shadow play is, Button? Observe below how fingers have been used to create cut-outs of animals using shadow play. The filigree on the bedroom wall was created in a similar manner using leaves, branches and the fence grills without the knowledge of the plants.
It’s certainly an art– This usage of fingers to throw animal or other formations onto a flat surface.
It certainly is. Try forming the image of the dog and the bear. I tried it because the illustration is alongside and it turned out rather well.
