Button, I miss Lizzy.

Lizzy! Who’s she?

Lizzy was my pet lizard in the kitchen who grew from being tiny to big in no time.

Any baby grows so what was different in Lizzy’s case?

Except that she grew up quickly after feeding on the tiny cockroaches in my kitchen thus keeping the space bereft of them.

That means you don’t like cockroaches but wouldn’t mind having other pests like lizards in your kitchen! That’s not fair!

It’s very fair because roaches are intrusive and keep crawling all over your kitchen counter, your kitchen drawers, on your gas stove, on food…

What about lizards. They do the same?

I think lizards are less intrusive and stay on walls or ceilings without getting in your way.

You are obviously partial towards lizards! And what if a lizard fell on you?

Why would she? At least they don’t fly straight at you like cockroaches! I’ve had huge ones actually fly straight at me.

And what did you do?

Vacate the place even before you could say “Jack Robinson.”

I hope you know that lizards bite.

And cockroaches knaw.

Lizard droppings are poisonous.

That’s because you have heard so. How do your know cockroach droppings aren’t poisonous? They’re smelly for sure.

Coming to the main point, where did Lizzy go?

Choti actually chased her away and I even saw a cockroach on my kitchen counter this morning. Incidentally, Lizzy looked a lot like this:
