Flash Post 173!

Button, have you heard of the Titanic?

It was a steamer that sank many many years back killing lots of passengers.

You’re right even though you’ve telescoped the entire incident into the smallest speck. Do you know that the iceberg that sank the Titanic on its maiden voyage may have originated in southwest Greenland in snow that fell about 100,000 years ago? It was estimated to be 400 feet long and 100 feet above the ocean surface though it had been melting for months before it struck the steamer.

Which means that it must have been bigger!

Originally it may have been around 1700 feet long and 75m tonnes in weight.

If this big an iceberg struck anything, what would be left of it? It’s a marvel that there were survivors.
