What’s this? I see a bear, a lion and a tiger. What are they up to?

They are fondly called BLT: The threesome comprise of Baloo the American black bear, Leo, the African lion and Shere Khan, the Bengal tiger. All three were rescued when they were two months old during a drug raid 15 years back.

I’ve never seen anything more beautiful.

As all three were kept in abysmal condition, they were malnourished and parasite-ridden. Leo was kept in a tiny cage and Baloo had to get his tight harness surgically removed as their owner had not loosened it as he grew bigger. The three have been inseparable since and the only time they lived away from each other was when Baloo had to visit a doctor.

Are they together now?

This photograph was taken 4 days ago at the Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary in Georgia in the US where BLT continue to be best of friends.
