February 5. “I have some sad news for you today. By the way, where were you? I was disturbed and wanted to speak with you!”

“We had to go for a movie screening. I am sorry, Button. Tell me. I’m all ears.”

“Fluffy was outside my window before 6 this morning. Apparently the tree that housed his nest was hacked down and he was very disturbed because he has to find a place to build another nest. You call yourselves human?  Is this what humanity does to other living species? Do you know that close to 1200 trees have been hacked in the past one week? The green cover is fast disappearing.  Where will the birds who built their nests on those trees go? I see no hope for this universe!”

“I understand why you are so upset: After all, Fluffy is your best buddy. Now calm down.  Has he found a place where he can put together a nest yet?”

“He’s found a temporary place and built a makeshift home so he and his family can sleep there tonight. He’s on the lookout for a safer place. Now go to sleep. I’ll see you tomorrow. By the way, is your cold any better?”

“Much better, thank you.”
