February 20. “Do you want to continue with our story or do you want to take a break, Button?”
“Let’s take a break. By the way, did you call your mom today?”
“I did.”
“I like the way you make it a point to call her dutifully.”
“It’s not a duty for me. The word ‘duty’ is not a nice word. Why would I call my mother because it makes me feel good that I am fulfilling some duty towards her? I call her because I want to call her. I like calling her up once in a while and chatting with her. The moment I see it as a duty, I’ll cease calling her. Are you following me, Button?”
“I understand. I understand exactly what you mean.”
“Do you miss your family sometimes?”
“I miss them all the time. I also like the home and family your family has lovingly given me.”
