February 20. “Button, you’re going through a lucky phase.
My elder daughter first hugged you. She later carried you out and sat you down at the dining table so you could have breakfast with us. How did it feel to be pampered?”
“It was a fabulous feeling with your daughter taking so much care by arranging the bib around my neck and serving me halwa with tons of raisins. Dost loves raisins too, doesn’t he?”
“He does and how. He can eat raisins for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So you’ll always find raisins at our place.”
“But Rani and Mowgli should have been sitting at the table too.”
“They are most welcome but can’t really manage to sit on those chairs.”
“And did your film click?”
“Not the way we expect our movies to.”
“Will you show me the film please? I love horror movies and have watched a couple.”
“Which ones have you seen?”
“I’ve seen Aahat and Paranormal Activity.”
“Don’t you get spooked?”
“Not really and even if I do, you’re always there to hold my hand. I also loved something your daughter said while hugging me.”
“What did she say?”
“She said that hugging me gave her comfort and a lot of peace and how cuddling me is therapeutic. Please tell her to cuddle me as much as she wants.”
“Tomorrow is the house-warming party at Fluffy’s. Have you decided on a gift?”
“I’ll find something tomorrow. Just one more thing if it’s not inconvenient—since Fluffy is busy with the arrangements tomorrow, he will not be able to come and fetch me. Can you please ask your driver to drop me off at their building?”
“No issue. What time is the party?”
“8 pm onwards.”
