December 9. “There is still hope for this world. I read a bit of news this morning which made me feel good for a change:
American actress Katherine Heigl showed what it takes to be a celebrity with a heart. She saved the lives of 25 Chihuahuas who were about to be euthanized. The dogs are up for adoption.”
December 8. “Button, I must tell you about this hilarious sight I witnessed on my way to the club:
I saw a crow pulling along a paper bag and desperately trying to untie the string so he could get to whatever was inside it. He failed on the first count, shook the bag fiercely and attempted to untie the string again.”
December 6. “Button, I read a very interesting bit of news in the TOI today. Apparently the potato and tomato plants are carnivores!”
“What’s that?”
“Carnivores are non-vegetarians. Can you believe that the tomato and potato plants are non-vegetarian?”
December 7. “Button, do you find these tidbits I share with you once in a while of any interest?”
“Very. I don’t get to read as much as I would want to so I learn every time you pass on bits of information or have a good laugh at some of the jokes you crack.”
December 5. “Have you heard of Tiger Woods, Button?”
“Of-course. Who hasn’t! He’s THE golf legend.”
December 4. “I got fed-up trying to check my mail on Google and Yahoo. God knows why it’s so slow!”
“It happens sometimes. It’s a lot like our lives—at times it works like clockwork and yet, at other times, it slows down. What’s there to get fed-up over?”
December 3. “Button, Rani’s surgery went off rather well. My elder daughter brought her back home at around 1 in the afternoon.
The girl is so brave she tried to get up and walk the minute she returned even after being heavily sedated. By evening she was up and about.”

“Button, read this: Parents of Clodagh, a 4-year old girl, who was heartbroken when she lost her teddy bear, went ahead and launched a social media campaign in order to reunite them! The teddy went missing at Dublin Zoo.”
December 2. “Button, I must tell you about my experience this morning.
It was rather quiet at around 9 when I heard some parrots making a racket outside our bedroom window. The windows have been boarded up the second time round which you are aware of and they were chattering away to their hearts content.”
