Button, it was a beautiful Sunday morning this morning and barididi and I decided to take our pets for their morning walk. After turning the first corner from our building, barididi picked up two sweet-smelling (I am ashamed I can’t remember the name) and very pretty-looking white flowers and tucked them into their collars. She spotted some pretty-looking orange flowers some steps away, picked those up too and tucked them in. Satisfied her babies were looking pretty enough for their Sunday morning outing, she smiled her toothy smile and continued walking. I followed, happy about the fact that small deeds such as these are capable of making someone so happy!

I missed the opportunity.

You did. It was one of those Sunday mornings with very few vehicles on the roads that made it much quieter than on weekdays. After taking a few more steps, we decided to remove their collars and continued on our way.

And they walked along without being guided?

Absolutely. They were totally adept at turning corners along our usual route and walked beside the two of us.

That’s so wonderful.

Halfway along the route, I spotted a most unusual flower that resembled an elf.

What’s an elf?

Look at the image of the flower first. I have never seen anything like this!

  No, I have done nothing remotely artistic with it. It drew my attention because I have not seen anything like this in all my years of existence on this planet.

Hi author….what lovely images. Are these your pets? Every Sunday morning my mother and I wake up at 7 in the morning and take our Rocky (a stray dog we had rescued 2 years ago) for a walk on Juhu beach…it is the most beautiful part of my week…we leave Rocky without a collar and he runs in the sand and has a whale of a time with the other stray dogs who are sadly homeless…but they too look happy when they see Rocky…

  Yes, we are proud parents of these lovely babies. We also have a pet cat who has brought us immense joy. Prior to homing him, we had reservations because we were not sure how the three would adapt but they have become best of friends. What’s interesting though is that Messi, the cat, has picked up certain traits from the dogs and responds to certain commands just like them.

My neighbour’s dog is very noisy and he wakes up the whole building at 5 every morning because he is trained to go out for his morning routine of pooping and peeing…what a terror she is! I don’t even have to set an alarm she is that loud! She even bit the guy who comes to deliver newspapers to our building once…since then he just leaves the papers outside and runs!

  Ours are loud too but they bark when the doorbell rings or, someone unfamiliar, comes to the house. But that’s their job and we encourage them to do it.

This can’t be a real flower! I have never seen anything like it and I am a florist…I have my own shop (actually my father;s business) where we sell all flowers and plants…I would like to know what this is called?? I showed it to my father also and he has also never seen it in his 39 years of business…

Hi ma’am, what is the breed of the dog on the extreme left? The one in the middle looks like a labrador and the image of the flower looks photoshopped…have you drawn it’s eyes and place 2 jamuns under it??

  The one on the left is a mixed breed and you’re right, the one in the centre is a Labrador. The flower is real and I haven’t drawn the eyes or placed 2 jamuns on the sides of its mouth.
