September 17. 12pm. “Button, when barididi and I used to walk and go feed the strays sometimes, I remember her telling me to walk faster.”
“And?”
“Her words brought back some wonderful memories when she was a toddler and when she took her first step and started to walk—I used to stretch out my arms in front of her and encourage her to walk faster and rush into my arms. During both their school sports, I would cheer them from the stands and encourage them either walk faster in a walking race or run faster in a relay.”
“What are you trying to say?”
“I was thinking about how our roles have got reversed. Today, my daughter is telling me to walk faster and keep pace with her when I used to tell her at the time when she was a kid, to walk faster and come to me!”
“I get it.”
