No, it’s not morning yet. It’s night and I’m in the room beside yours to check my email. Want to join me?”

“I’m not asleep. In fact I saw those lovely visuals you just downloaded without you noticing me. Such lovely words too. I come out of my room once in a while—just like I watch the two of you doing yoga in the mornings—and watch some of the mail you download and listen to some of the music you listen to. Do you mind?”

“I love your company. Why would I mind?”

“Did you go out today?”

“We went for a long drive this afternoon and I remembered you. Along the way I saw a Minah wearing stilettos and trotting around on one of those green islands that government malis tend to and maintain so well. It brought a smile to my face to see the pride with which he was strutting around and doing all kinds of antics. It looked as if he was lord of the island and the island was his entire universe. You could have added Minah to your list of friends had you been there to befriend him.”
