October 12. “Is MoJo getting along with Rani and Mowgli?”

“Button, she gets on famously with Mowgli but stays away from Rani.”

“Why?”

“I guess Rani disallows MoJo from getting too close because she is much older and doesn’t like her playfulness.”

“I’ve seen Rani bark one of her really loud barks and flash her teeth to send MoJo run for cover.”

“I’ve seen that as well but the look she gives Rani suggests—wait till I grow up and I’ll teach you the lesson of your life.”

“Rani was much younger when Mowgli came home, I guess!”

“Mowgli was much smaller than MoJo when she came to live with us and Rani, who was much younger then, used to play with her a lot and protect her.”

“I feel Rani has reached an age when she wants to be left alone.”

“Perhaps but this whole act is similar to how human beings react to similar situations.”

“What do you mean?”

“Youngsters are in the habit of teasing the aged to irritate them and make them angry. I see Rani behave in a very similar fashion. She gets irritated with MoJo’s antics and tells her, in no uncertain terms, to keep a distance.”
