May 1. “Button, our brood of strays has 8 members till date.
You remember me telling you about the 2 pups who died and 2 more who were seriously ill?”
“I remember you telling me about them.”
“One out of the 2 pups survived and has started to eat the food we provide for them.”
“That would be 6 after Shabby passed away. Who are the remaining two?”
“A three-legged black and white stray who we call Langra (because she has only three legs and who ways her tail vigorously every time dhe sees us) who lives on the Peddar Road footpath and the other is a beautiful white and brown stray who lives on Altamount Road. We call him Patch because he has two identical brown patches. a lot like a bandit, covering his eyes and his ears are dotted with brown. Patch looks straight out of a comic book and even smiles at my younger daughter when she gets off the vehicle to give him his packet.”
