March 1. “Button, when did you leave for Fluffy’s place? I missed your hug this morning.”

“A little after 10 and you hadn’t come.”

“Yes, I woke up half an hour later than usual. Now tell me how you spent your Holi.  Every little detail. And, when you go out of the house, please inform me whatever it takes.”

“I’ll do that. I arrived at Fluffy’s around 10.30 just in time for breakfast so I sat down with them and had a breakfast of toast and marmalade. Katrina was already there but she’s on a diet and had an apple. We then laid out the colours in little bowls and took out the pichkaris. Preity suggested we play with dry colours only as it would make it easier for her to clean up later. Fluffy had also invited some of his closest friends and we had a great time caking each other with gulal. Preity served lunch around 1.30. I must say she’s a great cook.The biryani was simply outstanding. Can Fluffy come for lunch this Friday? Katrina is okay with it.”

“Not a problem.”

“Fluffy then dropped off Katrina before giving me a ride back home but not before flying me around a bit so I could see other people playing Holi. Fluffy was a little tired today so we kept the trip brief. He’s promised me a longer ride next time round.”

“Come, let’s go eat dinner. You can then take a call to either watch a movie with us or go to bed.”

“I’ll happily watch the movie with the family.”

“By the way, you missed out on loads of fun yesterday post lunch: The four of us competed in threading a needle.”

“You mean passing a thread through the eye of a needle? Who won?”

“My younger daughter, who took all of 14 seconds.”

“I could have done it in less time.”

“Really? Have you ever held a needle and thread between your fingers?

“I’ll prove it to you the next time we play the game.”
