“They look very artistic and lovely. But I don’t have a clue! They’re paintings?”
“Indeed. Dost’s niece who now lives in Dubai with her husband, keeps sending me these interesting stuff from time to time.”
“But what are these?”
“They are painted man-hole covers. Someone in Japan thought this through and succeeded in making artistic covers for man-holes.”
“That means you are bound to spot these beautifully painted covers wherever they have man-holes.”
“That’s how the word drain-spotting came about.”
“If we had such covers in India, what do you think would have happened?”
“They’d get stolen for sure.”
