Dear Readers, you may notice the dates of the Blog do not match the Flash Post dates which are in real time. The blog was written in 2009 and saw the light of day 6 months back when my younger daughter discovered it and decided to bring it to you here.

June 7. “Somewhere in the beginning when we started this dialogue, Button, I remember you expressing a desire to get wet in the rains.

This was in early October when we had one of those non-seasonal showers.”

“I love getting drenched in the rains.”

“This afternoon around 3, when it poured, I remembered this and told myself that I must fulfill your desire. Let the rainy season get going and I’ll take you, either to Marine Drive or to Worli Seaface.”

“We’ll take Rani and Mowgli along too.”

“Of-course. I’ll get you a rain coat. Rani and Mowgli already have theirs.”

“I only hope the rains come soon.”

“My younger daughter had exactly the same desire to take a walk on Marine Drive in the rains last year and went and got herself a wind-cheater.”

“Did she? Did you find out?”

“She did and promptly caught a cold.”

“We’ll have to be careful though.”

“Many get washed away because they aren’t cautious and the waves can get very nasty at times.”

“Imagine getting swept away!”

“Why would I, for the life of me, imagine being swept away, Button!”

“The thought is so scary.”

“Last year, the MET had predicted that Mumbai would be hit by a tsunami. Everybody was scared and anxious when they predicted that waves as high as 5-6 meters would hit us but that didn’t happen.”

“How do you predict what course nature will take? It always catches us unawares.”
