“Button, another 50-year old institution, the Samovar, tucked away in the verandah of Kala Ghoda’s Jehangir Art Gallery will down its shutters this month.

From writers, painters, thinkers, theatre personalities–I can’t think of anyone who has not been there sometime or the other in their lives! Dost held his exhibition of art for children in 1991 after which we and some of his friends strolled across to the cafeteria for some tea, sat on its benches and chatted way past the cafe’s closing time.

These are some of the landmarks in my life and I hope you were there then to share these moments!”
