“Button, what’s happening to humans! Why are they suddenly becoming so heartless and cruel!

This 8-week old rhino was found cowering in the shade of a car after her mother was killed by suspected poachers in South Africa. She was dehydrated, severely wounded and emaciated as she approached this vehicle in desperate need of rest.

22-year old Liam Burroughs, who works as field guide at Kruger National Park, was driving through when he spotted the distressed animal. Liam said that she made a number of ‘contact calls’ which is a particular kind of call calves make to locate their mother and beg her to feed them.

The calf is now being watched and cared for by the rehabilitation centre Care For Wild Africa.”
