Dear Readers, you may notice the dates of the Blog do not match the Flash Post dates which are in real time. The blog was written in 2009 and saw the light of day 6 months back when my younger daughter discovered it and decided to bring it to you here.

Button, do you like colouring?

Yes. Very much. But why do you ask?

Because Dost just gave me a few colouring books and a box of crayons as a gift and I am quite flustered as to why I should start to colour again at my age. To me it is still a children’s activity!

Give them to me because I’d love to fill colour in insipid and bleak spaces.

I’ll give you one to start with. Maybe after seeing you do it, I’ll be inspired into doing the same. Maybe we can also compete with each other and see who makes dullness disappear and bring colour and life into the pictures. So, here’s a book and some crayons. Show me what you can do with it.

Thank you. By the way, the whole idea behind getting adults to colour is to get them to focus as well as improve their concentration. And keep them occupied.

I understand the bits about focus and concentration. But what’s the last thing about keeping us occupied! I am occupied enough. A bit of “me” time when I can put up my legs, scan through a magazine and, maybe, even doze off for a bit is akin to being in paradise. I don’t want to and will not give that up to colour books.

See what I do with those books. Maybe you’ll be tempted enough.

That’s not a happy picture:
