Dear Readers, you may notice the dates of the Blog do not match the Flash Post dates which are in real time. The blog was written in 2009 and saw the light of day 6 months back when my younger daughter discovered it and decided to bring it to you here.

Flash Post 234!

Button, watch these butterflies glide in and out, out and in, up and down and chase each other without a care in the world.

They are beautiful but where did you click them?

In our garden, silly. I looked out of the window and spotted these two having the time of their lives. Just the way we used to spread out our hands horizontally and race ahead to ape helicopters taking off while making a zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……………ing sound from our mouths as kids!

Show me.

Like this, see…

That’s so cool. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……

Do you realise that the butterflies I videoed don’t suffer from stress (or so I think), don’t have to think about when or where their next meal will come from, don’t have to wake up on a Monday morning to go to work, don’t have to fuss about what they have to wear to family weddings, don’t have to bring up children or oversee their homework, don’t have to earn a living for their families, don’t have to remember or plan anything about anything. All they do is fly around and play Catch Me If You Can and, sometimes help in the pollination process.

That’s work for them!

But in their own time. Their own space.

I get what you mean. They have all the freedom in the world to do exactly what they want. When they want. What is the Hindi word for butterflies?

Titliyan, I think.

That’s such a beautiful word.
