Flash Post 217!

Button, have you noticed how MoJo has begun to walk around on all fours lately? She has almost entirely given up hopping and skipping around.

Yes, I see her walking around a lot more these days. Is it because she has lost quite a bit of weight?

That’s the only reason I can think of. She gave up walking once she turned a year old because of a genetic flaw in her hip joints known as hip displacia. Slowly she began to put on weight because of sterilisation and also because she is a foodie and loves to eat. The vet she was seeing then never told us that MoJo had hip displacia and she gradually began to hop around almost every time she stood up to reach somewhere as she was in a lot of pain. Her fore legs turned arthritic because of the pressure she was exerting on them as the immense pain in her hind legs as well as the excess weight was forcing her to exert more pressure on them.

She must be feeling lighter on her feet which enables her to walk around now!

I pointed this out to Dost this morning that after having forgotten what it’s like to walk, MoJo is walking almost all the time because of the weight she has lost.

You think it seems strange to her?

A little, maybe. After all, she is walking again after a gap 5 years.
