Button, do you know what superstition is? Are you superstitious?

I won’t deny not being superstitious entirely. The other day, when we went out for a drive, did you notice our driver stop for a while and then proceed because a black cat crossed our path?

No, I didn’t.

Well, he did and I was pleased. Are you superstitious?

Where the family and near and dear ones are concerned, I certainly am.

But why ask such a question out of the blue?

After reading a little snippet in this week’s India Today that published how the Karnataka Chief Minister promptly bought a new vehicle after a crow sat on his SUV.

That’s lavishness life-size!

Wow! That’s just superstition taken to another level! I think that was just an excuse to flaunt his money.

Don’t you agree it’s like an illness? That once you start being superstitious, you get pulled into a vicious circle more and more. Till everything you do is decided by an external force.

I am totally superstitious. It all started when my mom told me never to cut nails at night. Though I still don’t know the reason behind this till date.

  Or to stop if a black cat crosses your path. Or to not call a person back if he/she is leaving the house to go somewhere…it’s a chain. If you start being superstitious, there’s no looking back and one gets pulled into the abyss more and more. Yet when it comes to family, do you really have a choice!
