It’s got something to do with butter and flies! But butter can’t fly. Tell me why?

Those exquisite looking insects were called butterflies by some English colonies because they believed witches turned into flying creatures at night in order to steal butter.

But butterflies are beautiful. How could they even think of comparing witches with butterflies?
