Dear Readers, you may notice the dates of the Blog do not match the Flash Post dates which are in real time. The blog was written in 2009 and saw the light of day 6 months back when my younger daughter discovered it and decided to bring it to you here.

Button, come and see this exquisite creature.

Creature?

Come and see it first.

Oh, it’s beautiful. It’s a grasshopper, right?

You’re absolutely right.

Where did you find her?

Dost and your didi found it lying injured in our home courtyard on their way to work and carried it back for me to tend to it. I’ve placed her on the fork of a plant in our garden where she can get some support. Her long legs are injured, I’m guessing.

I’ll go from time to time and look her up.

That’s sweet of you. Thank you.  Remind me to read to you a sonnet by John Keats on the Grasshopper and Cricket this evening.

I will.

Remind me to also read to you a poem which was in our school curriculum called Grasshopper Green. It’s a classic poem by Nancy Dingman Watson.

Will do.
